Happy Anniversary!

April 23, 2007
Yey! One year! Time flies so fast. Hahahaha. I've been here in Davao for ONE (1) year already. I gladly survived the heat of the sun. Weee! Hehehe.

After a year of staying here in Davao, there are a number of things I learned, realized, and/or found out, and I would like to share 'em with you.

So here's the list:

1. Family will always be family. When the whole world turned their back on you or you met an unfortunate fate, they would be the people who would be waiting for you to come back home to comfort you and give you strength. Home sweet home, huh? :D

2. Changes are hard to accept, esp. when these changes happened to people who are dear to us. But then, this should not stop us from valuing them. So what if they change? By the end of the day, what matters most is that both of you value each other and respect each other. Ü

3. Don't expect. Really, don't ever, ever expect. I know, it's a cliche, but it's true. On one moment, you and your so-called friends are happy, the next day, when you are so, so down, I doubt if half of your so-called friends would be there to share your burden with you.

4. Open mindedness is the solution for acceptance and harmony. Yes, open mindedness. You need not to be exactly like them (the way they look, act, and think), you just have to respect their different perspective and lifestyle and believe me, they would also respect your stand on things (if they are true friends =D).

5. Be thankful. May it be because of a simple text, a sweet smile, or a big favor done for you, always be thankful. Nothing can beat the feeling of bein' thanked. I've realized that it can encourage people to help and do more good deeds.

6. Live life to the fullest. It quite suck when I hear this: "Life is too SHORT", it sounds so negative, don't you think? So, I choose to have this mantra, "Live life to the fullest". Do whatever makes you happy, do things that you are capable of without inflicting pain to others. Carpe Diem!
